Skin-on-Frame: SOF catamaran kayak

Have progress this week finally. Been an icky summer with very little free time to work on this thing. Finally got both hulls covered, found that contact cement works really well at gluing down laps in the cloth and once it's set up the heat of an iron will soften the glue enough to flatten out any wrinkles. Used Weldwood gel cement btw.

I've also glassed one hull and precoated the other, ready to glass it tomorrow. Doing a catamaran is the pits, once you finish a job you're only half way done . With this light cloth 1.7 ounce dacron and 3.2 ounce glass it really doesn't add much weight. I'm going to add a tape down the keel on both boats to toughen up the very bottoms.

Hopefully will get it ready for test #2 this week with the adjustable cross beams to find the ideal width for this beast. Might actually be able to paddle it a little :)
