I'm getting close to finishing construction on a stitch and glue Chesapeake 16LT custom chop. (Yeah, I whacked 1" off the sheer line. Custom chop, you know, like hot rods.) Notice I said construction... I reckon we'll be sanding as long as we were building :)

Anyway, what are the favorite paints to use anymore? The decision was made to go primarily paint, and not varnish, though maybe the deck will be varnished. Not my choice, I'm just along as the "project manager." I'm guessing that we'd use a urethane topsides marine paint.

Does the combined wisdom of the forum favor a particular brand? Interlux? Petit? Other?

I think I read somewhere that urethanes are preferred any more, and not to bother with an epoxy paint. I think I'd prefer a one part urethane over a two part. (I'm tired of mixing epoxy, I guess...)

Thanks,
Brian
