I am a first time builder and would like some thoughts on the appropriate kayak. I'm a novice kayaker and initially will go out on bays, large lakes and estuaries in Northern California. No white water or surf or week long expeditions but would eventually like to do some sea kayaking and short overnights. I'm considering either the Great Auk, Guillemot or the Spring Run at 16 feet. Are there other models I should look at? I'm 5'10' and 160 lbs. Thank you.
