Skin-on-Frame: help! need to install some type of footrest

I recently bought a finished SOF. It does not have any foot rests. I have no idea the size of the original builder. I am 5 foot 2 and I need something for the feet. It is the bifrucated bow type boat. The frame seems to be made of very small strips running lenthwise tied to frames that are also very small there are good size frame pieces on both bow and stern of cockpit. There is a plastic floor that has been installed on top of the cockpit area, it is sew in as well. No bulkheads.
I was thinking of making some type of 90degree form and sliding it on the plastic floor till I get the position correct then attatch it to the plastic.
Any thoughts of materials or ideas. There is very little frame to connect to and I really don't want to risk poking a hole in the skin which is some type of coated material.
Tippy and I need to loose weight and take yoga up again to get into the cockpit easily--but it sure is light to load and my on the shore observer said I got it up to a pretty good speed for the first outing.

Been thinking of some outriggers till I get this balance thing down.
Thanks
