That's brushed (and rolled) on paint, not sprayed. It's oil based - their old standard. They also make a marine paint, which I've used on wooden kayaks, and works great on fabric, too. I do all the artwork. I think it adds something for the kids, and I like to do it.

8oz polyester is easier to sew because you don't have to pull it too tight - can't, in fact, or it will produce large stitch holes - and because you can very easily remove any wrinkles with the application of heat. I'm constantly amused at the sight of a large wrinkle disappearing before my eyes.
Maybe I should have been a plastic surgeon?
Of course, the polyester basically holds its shape when wet and cold, too, unlike nylon which loosens and wrinkles disconcertingly.
