: Why not do a hybrid? S&G hull with a strip deck. CLC definitely sells hybrid

I have the Plans for the Merganzer 17W Hybrid and had planned to build it with a strip deck but because of the differences in hard versus multi chined hulls I thought I should look into a complete strip kit. The Redfish boats are beautiful but expensive compared to everything else but all the strips are full length and you can choose your wood.

I'm building the boat more so because of the aesthetic beauty and my love for wood so a strip boat is more appealing than S&G for that aspect. But, I want performance as well so I guess my question would be; are the multichined strip built kayaks better performers than a S&G? Yes I realize that can be very subjective but it's subjective opinions that I'm looking for.
