Epoxy: Multiple layers of 'glass

Hi all,

I'm currently building an 18' S&G Point Bennett and am using a couple of layers of fiberglass in some places for stiffness/protection. First time I've used more than one layer of 'glass.

So, when should I apply the secong layer of 'glass and start epoxying it? While the first layer is tacky or touch dry, but not fully cured? Or go all fill coats, dry, sand smooth and then apply second layer and glass it as before?

I'm aware you get a chemical bond if doing the fill coats within certain time periods, and so assume I follow this process in this case - wait until touch dry and then start second layer? But just want to check...

And do I need to do multiple fill coats in the first layer to ensure it's smooth and transparend, or do I just do one or two fill coats?

Thanks!
