Along the east coast they have a tradition of buring boats once they reach a certain point. I could never do such a thing!!! There is a beautiful wooden boat in Tortola that was beached a few years back and rapidly went to heck. It's such a shame. WAY beyond repair... but still beautiful to look at. She appears to be made of cedar. Interesting design too- no cockpit. The deck is flush tip to stern. I guess you just stand on the deck to steer her.

Anyway, thanks for the support. Interesting story about your kayak. I'll keep my eyes out for her during my travels.
