: Lovely shot, lovely kayak, congratulations!!
: It's a real treat to see another VOLKSKAYAK join the fleet. My
: first VK, the RightWind, is the first VK built by a
: Newfoundlander for Newfoundland waters (hence my vk1nf handle).
: Since then, there have been over a dozen VKs built here at
: least, and I've had a finger in the pie with all of 'em!
: Designer Gerry Gladwind reckons he worked directly with about
: 800 VK builders; most of them have gone on to do at least one
: more VK, meaning there are probably something approaching 1,500
: of them out there somewhere, mostly in the Maritimes. You'll
: find you've got yourself a fine kayak, very comfortable and
: forgiving - enjoy it...
Thanks Richard
I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It was my first boat and I made a lot of errors and did many re-works along the way, but I learned a lot in the process. Mark says it tracks great, feels very stable and responsive, and he's very happy with it. Once he gets a few scratches 'on to her' I'll take it for a spin.
