I wetout 5oz Polyester last night for the first time on my whitewater kayak project, and thought I'd share my experience. This was definitely more difficult to wetout than any 6oz glass I have worked with. The weave was much tighter, and getting out all of the air took some time. This was especially a challenge for me, as I am not the quickest with a squeegee (being a perfectionist does NOT help here at all). I also was quite tortured leaving it to cure in that I was worried it was very resin-rich, despite not being able to squeegee out hardly anything... Thankfully, it set up pretty well by this morning, and only one small spot seemed to raise up over night. Has a nice tough feel to it as well, and a good texture for my next layer.

I will be wetting out 5oz Kevlar for the first time soon, and I'm hoping I don't have any issues with it, we shall see. I've have to get some newer pictures on flickr to give you guys a look at it~
