And the second pic. You can see those dark flecks in the middle of the rope, not the yellow or red threads. The dark flecks are the Dacron line that sewed the rope on. I've seen people whip the sewing line all the way around the circumference of the rope, and mate it up with the twist in the rope. But skinboats.org said sew right through the middle of the rope. Not sure if one way is better than another. I found the rope stiffened up considerably when I pulled the sewing stitches tight, which was good, because it seemed awfully soft prior to that.
