Many years ago I used dyed nylon for furniture. One side though was coated. I've never seen any that wasn't coated, at least not for the weights that are used for our purposes. I'm not sure that even the coated material wouldn't work as long as the coating was on the inside of the boat. You only apply the finish to the outside anyway.

If it helps, the stuff I used was called nylon bag fabric, no idea why it was called that.
