Hello all,

Thought I would share the pic of the kayak and the wood surfboard atop the "Battle Bug." I got a lot of looks, questions, and photos taken by tourists as I drove through downtown and around the cruise ship docks. I just love the old school board atop the old school bug.

Also I'm having a problem with the rack slipping in the rain gutters on the front. I do have the rack moved quite far forward to give as much spread to the rack as possible. The gutters curve downward so the rack wants to slip forward when torqued down. I have remedied this by running a ratchet strap between the front and back racks. When the front slips it's held by the back, but I would really like to fix it right. I thought maybe some rubber under the foot where it mounts to the rain gutters would give a bit more stickiness to it. Any thoughts? I'd rather not alter the car.

Another question about the hully rollers. Mine are turning to mush! They are leaving sticky stuff on the kayak that almost looks like board wax. Anyone else have this problem? I figure I'll just order another set because it seems they are rivited so I guess you can't just replace the rollers. First I may try wrapping them with something to get a little more life out of them. They're working fine, they just have gone soft and are leaving residue on the hull. It seems they just had too much UV exposure.
