Epoxy: West System has changed the 207 formula

Hello all,

In case you didn't see the response to another post, I thought I would post separate to let you know that West System has changed the 207 hardener to eliminate the yellowish hue. Supposedly now it is clear. If you are like me and have a stock of the stuff check your stock. I unwittingly ended up with one of the old hardener and one of the new. The ONLY way to tell is that the old, yellow hardener says "Special Coating Hardener" on it, and the new clear stuff says "Special Clear Hardener." Everything else is the same- including the serial number. I called my boatyard and they said they get so much literature from West System that they never read it all and were not aware of the change, so yours may not either. Check what you have in the shop and be sure you don't end up with half a yellowish kayak and half clear!

Lucky for me I just got to the end of the old can of 207 without needing the new one, so the little bit of old stuff I have left will go to stickin' stuff together, and the new can will be for wetting out my next project, soon to come!
