Strip: WATERLOX marine varnish

Want my kayak to shine like a mirror. I made a paddle out of poplar...stained it and used a product called WATERLOX marine (resists moisture/UV rays). coat/wait 24 hours/coat again. See your reflection! SuperFinish!! Everything I've read says it is great on wood surfaces of any type.
HOWEVER, I can't find anything that tells me if it ADHERES to epoxied fiberglass that has been sanded ( 80-120).
LOVE the look of the paddle (Fantastic!)...but it is not fiberglassed.
Hate to use some of my fiberglass (and end up short on boat) for a trial run...so...hoping someone out thar has used this product successfully on a kayak. I'm in Kansas...not by an ocean...and the kayak will probably end up being an art piece more than a pragmatic ocean vessel. But...got 300 hours in this baby...don't want to ruin it now. vic in Kansas
