A really easy way to mark where you'd like stitch holes when designing your own S&G is to make sure the unwrapped templates show intersection lines. Whatever means you use to trace those template cutouts to the plywood, make sure you mark where the intersections are. In areas with the tightest curves, make sure your intersections are 2" apart, as opposed to 6" or 8" apart for your stitching holes. Just having those marked with pencil helps you know whether the different panels are lined up good and proper. Sandpaper does a good job of removing those markings before glassing, as long as you don't scar the wood too much.

The use of intersections, bullocks lines, and waterlines on S&G templates can really help locating other items in a unique design, such as cockpit and compartment cutouts. I was able to do all of those with my current build, and thats just using FreeShip. Rhino is killer, and I am quite envious~
