Cover works fine when the car is parked with the lock installed, the cable isn't that large of a diameter so it fits under the cover. I normally run the cable out the stern where the cockpit cover has the knot and doesn't fit all that tight to start with. Not perfect but water proof.

I don't leave the cables on when I'm driving, bad on both the boat and the car's finish.
