: 7' LOA (hence no scarffing)
: 26" Beam
: 200lb Design displacement

: I'll let Rick tell the story in his own words,

: "Hello.

: I've decided I want to build myself a small whitewater kayak...in
: my search
: I found out about your program, gave it a whirl & am most
: impressed.

: My background: I'm a reasonably accomplished marathon kayaker; I
: live in
: Fairbanks Alaska & building on much training, finished in the
: Yukon River
: Quest this year - longest kayak/canoe race in the world in case you
: don't
: know of it. 460 miles on the Yukon River...I did it in 67 hours on
: 5 hr of
: sleep.

: My experience: I've built 2 stitch and glue kayaks (a Chesapeake
: LT17 & a
: West River 18, both as kits from Chesapeake Light Craft). They came
: out
: great, so I feel confident about doing another...the West River 18
: I built
: was what I raced in the YRQ this year.

: My situation: Living in Fairbanks, there is no such thing as a
: liquid lake
: or river from October until April. The only kayaking opportunity in
: the
: winter is the local swimming pool on Monday nights starting in
: January. My
: kayaks are way too big for the pool and I want/need to practice my
: rolls. So
: a small kayak is the ticket, which is why I looked for and found
: your
: website/program....CLC doesn't offer a whitewater kayak kit.

: ...

: Sincerely looking forward to working with you -

: Rick Hoegberg"

26" beam is awfully skinny for a WW boat specially one that short. Hope the owner is fairly small.
