I'd often heard of this boat, but had to go on the web to refresh my memory. The design calls for it to weigh 115 lbs. How much yours weighs depends on many things, likely it's heavier as it's not always easy to build to the plans exactly. That's a bunch of weight to carry on the roof, not counting the weight of the racks, it's likely more than the car's roof is designed to carry.

I'd be much more comfortable taking it on a trailer.
