Tried this with 'skeel' bonded on with hot glue, recommended by the guy who sprayed it with Awlgrip. It seemed to work great, and held while in the water, and FELL off while the boat sat on the dolly: PERFECT! Bonded it on with the 4200 and tested it in some good conditions. Wow, this seems to be the best of all worlds. The boat initiates turns beautifully, but will check a turn, not weathercock, controlls beautifully while surfing. Thinking about cancelling my order for skeg kits. Thankyou Don and Reg for your help. I think people, maybe even the kayak industry, should know about this. Even when you would not need a skeg deployed it keeps the boat tracking or carving, which is faster than skidding or sliding, so I don't think the additional drag is really an issue. Rowing shells use skegs just for this reason. By the way, the twin keel idea might work, but prob not as well. At least it would be easy to try out.
