I will be joining the hull and deck on my second boat in a few weeks. I was thinking through the procedure this morning. On the first boat, I did the hot glue dots every 6 inches or so. Worked well, but I did get small lumps in the tape where the hot glue was placed, small thing but they bothered me. I occurred to me that I only need to hot glue the tape where I can't reach it, which happens to be where I will never see it either. I am going to try it that way.

: I like to run the glass up the coaming while I am doing the inside
: of the deck.

: I can't see any reason to try doing the inside of the deck with a
: single piece of glass. It can't be seen and the overlap between
: the pieces is not a problem. I tend to use up the triangular
: shaped pieces trimmed from the roll when I did the hull and the
: outside of the deck.

: I have used both methods for the inside seam and find that I have
: fewer problems if I hold the glass tape in place with a dot of
: hot glue every 6" or so before I tape the two halves
: together.
