All of my Yost boats have plywood floors and are ok, also by the time I get to that point I'm a bit anxious to put them in the water :)

I suspect a foam cored glass floor may be the way to get it light and strong, but for floors that are thin will need a urethane foam with some strength to it rather than the more common foams. Look at Aircraft Spruce for examples, they also sell small quantities.
