The final weight is 68 pounds. Thats 25+ of the weight stated in the book Kayakcraft, over building with lightweight solid wood strips. I attribute that to the veneer, contact cement(heavy stuff) and the neodymium magnets(62 - 3/4" dia. x 1/8" thick magnets). The core is 4mm okume. I could have gone with 3 but 4 is already quite flexible(note the fairing compound) and 3 would have required intermediate stations/forms be added to keep curves fair and true.
