Thanks to Tom Yost, who suggested it, we hauled the boat straight up the mountain to a beautiful, no-motorboats-allowed, lake high above Boulder - Gross Reservoir. So nice there (a world apart from rather depressing Boulder Reservoir, out on the prairie) and perfect conditions for a 3 hr paddle.

Both my friend, Catherine, and I are long legged at about 5'10" and together weigh 300lbs or so. I don't think we could have fit in the boat more perfectly - plenty of leg room for both of us, and the boat was well balanced between us.

As for paddling, I don't want to wax too poetic about my own creation, but this could easily be my favorite boat to paddle - ever. It did everything we wanted it to do. Tracked straight, even in a good crosswind - but still turned almost effortlessly. Very stable and comfortable - very. And it paddled great with just Catherine in it - a novice paddler (but a professional athlete), too.
I'm still thrilled and kind of amazed that it worked so well - and I really like the color now, too.

Of course, we haven't had it out in waves or howling wind, so . . . .

More fun was had with other boaters - a local shop was having a demo day, and there were lots of hideous plastic recreational kayaks plowing around. We got a lot of questions and compliments, and certainly had the only elegant boat on the water.

Anyway, I was pretty pleased with the paddling, the scenery and the company, and I have to give the boat a big thumbs up.
