I had my bare wood Great Auk 14' shrink wrapped for the trip from upstate NY to SC. This protects it from rain and snow and also from chaffing. It's only good for one way, but it should be epoxied, fiberglassed and varnished for the return trip. Cost $72 but I think it was worth it; especially since it was my wife's idea.
