I seem to recall there being about 10 noodles in there - cut to various lengths to fit in tightly. There is not a whole lot of internal hull volume in this boat to actually fill - espeecially in the afte portion. I've had the boat out a number of times on the salt water but not with the noodles in place so I don't know how well they work. Tonight will be the first pool session for the fall so I'll give the set up a test there - finger crossed!

Bill: The boat seems to handle well. I've had it out in some good wind and waves - bith of which it handles fine. No weathercocking whatsoever even in a 20 plus know cross wind. For some reason, it surfs like a rocket when you catch it on a good wave!!

One thing I did notice is that it turns WITH the edge and not AWAY from the edge. I read on the Qajaq USA forum that boats with very low aft decks can do this - the rear deck can't slide into the turn as the top edge is hooking the water. Also, the boat is using the gunwales as a keel and this affects edging. When I'm in the bopat it has about 1" of freeboard on the aft deck.

I'll be doing more testing now if the flotation issue is taken care of. I would not take the boat on long day paddles as it had the potential of putting both myself and my fellow paddlers at risk should I have to bail out and be rescued.

Cheers,

Sean
