: I am starting my new build - Wee Lassie and having a tough time
: trying to figure out why Mac Mcarthys building board shows
: 4" overhang at the Bow and 2" overhang at the Stern.
: I have 2 16 ft. strongbacks patterned after Ted Moores strongback
: with a nesting box between them so that I may extend the length.

: My question is can I ignore the overhangs? If I SHOULD have the
: overhangs, should I raise the molds about 3" higher on my
: 16 ft. strongback to satisfy the overhangs? Another alternative
: is to purchase a 10' 9 1/2" x 6" board and a 2x4
: spine. But that would mean I would have to make special
: "horses" to hold this new strongback. I would prefer
: using what I already have. Another alternative is to remove half
: of the strongback and extend the nesting box to 10' 9 1/2"

The overhangs will make planing the sanding the outer stem easier . . .
: overall length and fill in the 4 sides with 2' 9 1/2" MDF.

: From What I can make out, the overhangs allow room for the first
: few strips to hang down at the Bow and Stern.
: What to do to solve this novice issue?
