If you can go without it for a while I'd send it back and have them do the repair. If you can't, order the mandrel too so you can do it right. You could probably make a mandrel, too. I've seen a lot of drywear repaired by people who thought "that's no biggie" and they end up with a gooped up aquaseally mess that's not all that waterproof. Don't let hubris mess up a $1000 piece of technical clothing.
