: I am about to start planking my Black Pearl and am in the process
: of picking up some new tools. After borrowing staple guns for
: many years (to put up Christmas lights and such) I decided I'd
: better buy my own for doing the boat. Of course, any staple that
: goes in, needs to come out so I figured I'd need some kind of
: staple remover. I found the perfect tool at Princess Auto.

: For 4.99 this tools works like a charm. Pulls the staples straight
: out and the base is wide enough to not dent the soft wood.

: Though I'd share. And, no, I don now have shares in Princess Auto
: so I don;t stand to make money off this!!

: For those wondering, PA is a chain of stores in Canada that sells
: everything from hydraulics, to hand tools, to electronics, to
: surplus army gear - you name it!!!

They have the same thing at Harbor Freight for $2.99 US.

Office supply stores also have staple removers with a wide base and lever for removing the staples. Saw this in Nick's book. Got two of these and one of the Harbor Freight type. The office supply staple removers work well with staples that are tight against the strips. The other one needs a gap between the staple and the strip to work well.
