Sculling
using an single oar to push a boat ....... no its not as easy as it looks --,it takes just the right wrist motion-- but in quiet water its neat... my father was a great sculler and I'm so-so .....I have a board that my wooden seat is attached to that stickes out a foot beyond the boat on both sides ((behind my seat)) and oarlocks in them.... you trail the oar behind the Kayak and with the practiced sculling motion propel the kayak forward..... when your left arm gets tired you use the right arm.... when your just fishing among lake reeds its great.
