S1 is a sealing type of epoxy made by system three. It is only a 50% solids and it water thin, type of epoxy so it is no good for laminating with a is only used for sealing surfaces. Works great as an alternative to full on epoxy for a seal coat before glassing. Also a lot cheaper than epoxy. In this case it was used because I didn't think in advance and used the wrong glue for laminating the paddle. In the end it did give it a really nice finish and I would probably use it again for this purpose, I like the feel it gave.
