Hmmm - well, I'm not an expert in this area but I'll be happy to start the ball rolling. Ahh the joys of the internet.

At the dimensions listed, this is a pretty beamy boat. Stability and speed do not generally mix well. The dimensions listed are pretty close to a CLC 16, which is what I paddle and it is a very stable boat. It has a 23.5" beam. It isn't the fastest boat out there, but I'll average 3-4 knots with a load over distance comfortably. The CLC is a single chine boat by the way.

As beamy as this boat is, stability will probably not be an issue, so perhaps going with a multi-ching is a reasonable tradeoff. However, I suspect that tracking might be an issue.
