I would make an exception for red at night for vision purposes, but really it wouldn't do much good. Red is the first color absorbed by water. At 20 feet my red rash guard looks dark grey. I would guess red wouldn't be much good past 10 feet for seeing stuff from the surface.

If the red lights blink to the music on your iPod then it's still a ballkick. However, if you are single and it attracts women to your kayak wellllll.... Okay, exception made for that too, but I can still scoff at you.
