: I know I have seen lots of posts about using hot glue. I can't seem
: to find the one where the guy mentions what kind he uses. I
: think it was a 3M product. The hot glue I'm using isn't holding
: very well :( What's going to hold up when it gets hot out??

: Thanks

I posted a while back about having difficulty having hot glue hold strips to forms because of the duct tape I used on the form edges to keep the wood glue from making a more permanent attachment. 'Bryan K' replied with his method here: http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Building/index.cgi/md/read/id/215622/sbj/strip-new-build-guillemot-ikeyak-ii/ but I had already switched to using the fishing line method. This involves using a monofilament line wrapped around the strip and tightly tied to a screw or nail in the side of the form. At least one person using this method pulls the line out after the glue has set but you can simply cut them to separate from the forms and they virtually disappear as you sand the boat.
