I was there a few years back in a sailboat, so I didn't camp, but we did see bears. Definitely keep your food and other stuff with smells in bear-proof containers. I don't know whether they are available from Parks up there, but the local staff should be able to advise. There are no trees in most of the area you will be paddling in, so hanging food from trees will not be possible.

The area is breathtakingly beautiful, it will be like paddling in the alpine. You should have a memorable trip, we certainly did.

A full report would be much enjoyed by the rest of us jealous types.
