Epoxy: yellow hardener

This is related to a previous post regarding color change of MAS slow hardener.

Yesterday afternoon I mixed some epoxy and applied to one of my current projects. I found that the MAS hardener was yellowish. I used it anyways .
This morning I was going to sand it but the application of epoxy was tacky. I am working in 85 to90 degree temperatures. Don't know why nor does
MAS customer support. Pretty P.P. customer support. She just told me "better not use it"....

I contacted West Marine in San Jose, Ca. and they are giving me another quart of MAS slow hardener for exchange--no charge. That is about as fair
as a retail store can get. I will have to scrub off the application with denatured alcohol if it does not dry by tomorrow morning.

Has anyone else experienced this before or does anyone know why? The container of hardener was purchased Feb. of this year and stored in my workshop.

Thanx
