It is used to join sections of gutter together. It consists of thin aluminum sheet about 10x thicker than aluminum foil, covered on one side with a thermoplastic tarry, black, substance. It comes on a roll with alunimum on one side and a layer of polyethylene sheet on the other side that is pealed off revealing a 1/16' layer of black colored, tarry material that serves as the adhesive. Tonight I heated it with a heat gun to get 95% of it off. I am going to have to experiment with some solvents to get the rest of it off the hull.
