I bought 10 meters of 3.5 mm diameter high quality cord and I couldn't bring myself to cut it.I knew that an unforseen circumstance whould create an issue.....the wear on the tight fitting cord to skeg box exit tubes.So I allowed for the cord to be rotated and provided the extra length in both directions to do so.All accesed within the cockpit.
I did the cable tie thing a bit better than this though.
I new that this is where I would cut the cord.
The skeg remaines a nice color.
Note: I have not cut the deck hatches yet,hence the considerable care in thought and actions.I also want to go and play in the waves....It takes me 4 -6 weeks to make decent hatches.
