I built a F 1 in a class with Brian so I can't offer any info about rib length other than Brian knows what he is doing.

However, I will pass one one thing I have noticed building two SOF boats--if you leave pegs flush with the wood you are pegging when you skin and Goop, the peg will swell and ends up forming a nice little bump. So if ya want it flush at the end I suggest you have the peg recessed. Might not happen with other materials to water proof the cloth, but so far all I have used is Goop.
