I cut molds at (measuring from the bow) 1', 4', 6', 8', 10', and 13'. Then assembled the stringers/gunwales and used a flexible aluminum yard stick to measure the ribs. I put the measurements in an excel graph and applied a smooth curve in order to check for outliers. I now know what my rib stock must be cut to once I start to attack the ash. I then disassembled everything and moved it into storage, as the next steps will be cutting and laminating the deck beams and coating, while I wait for the artificial sinew to arrive in the mail. Once the deck beams and foaming are made, I will mortise the gunwales and assemble the "top" of the kayak. Then the ribs, stringers and keel, bow and stern, etc. etc. one step at a time.
