Perfect timing Randy. I was just loading photos of my new system. Not all phases have been tested yet.

Brief explanation. A reinforced cable housing extends halfway into the skeg box. Skeg is slotted on same 6" radius with cable imbedded in the lower part of skeg. Box form and skeg are precision made on the same jig to eliminate tapered traps for sand. The first one has .040 clearance and works smoothly. I can always make the skegs thinner if needed.

Photo shows how everything is centered around the 6" radius for minimal friction.

Bottomline is with a full six inches down on the blade the amount of unsupported cable is only an inch. A telescoping system of sorts.
