I don't know if the kayak shown in the following link will work for you, but the inventor has obviously worked hard to make a highly compact foldable kayak - 12 foot 22 pounds (30 pounds in the backpack). The boat doesn't have beautiful, smooth flowing lines, but it is ingenious. It's called the PakYak and can be seen at
