I received my copy of Ted Moore's Kayakcraft yesterday. I haven't had much of a chance to look it over, but I did notice that he includes a table showing strength and stiffness results for various strip and plywood layups. I believe he also describes the test apparatus. This might be of interest in addition to the work Nick, George and others have done.

btw, my initial impressions of the book is that it will be a nice supplement to the other kayak- and boat-building books on my shelf, but that Nick's book remains the definitive source. Kayakcraft appears to use a different strongback method, sheer clamps and bow and stern stems. The designs used in the book don't appear to me to take full advantage of the stripping method. I would be interested to hear other people's reactions to the book, though maybe it should be a separate thread....
