I didn't payed much attention to it when I did it, but I put a thick layer of hot glue to hold the temp frames. when it was time to remove them, I just pulled out the glue.

I did had to do some sanding, but I didn't considered it to be an exceptional pain in the butt.

make sure it's a thick bead of glue, & not a wide bead. there is no need for a wide bead.
