I have not started my guillemot yet so I can not my time for construction. I have spent a good many hours preparing strips,forms,stands and such. 300 hours is probably alot of the setup and learning curve.

If you rip your own strips you can reduce the materials costs quite a bit. I found some pretty clear spruce and cedar at the local Home Depot so for under $50.00 cndn - I have more that enough strips for a kayak.

I am sure that the second kayak will go together much faster than the first ;-)
