Make sure it's insured for at least full value, including labor. I see more freight damage than you want to know about...
: Well, the boats aren't even finished yet (the Osprey is still "almost
: done" and the Coho is still in the box), but Louise and I are
: thinking about traveling with them. While there are millions of trips
: within reasonable (or even unreasonable) roof-rack-distance of SoCal, we
: can't help imagine ranging farther afield with our beautiful boats...
: We're going to Greece (without the boats, of course) in June, and we're
: skipping the islands this time. _Next_time_, however, we think that it
: would be a great place to paddle...
: On to my question, how do you ship one of these 16-18ft, ~40lb boats? Can you
: pack 'em in a crate (2x4 and 1/2 or 3/4in plywood) and send 'em air
: freight? Or do you have to plan way ahead and have them shipped via
: ground/ocean? Have any of you guys ever shipped one? How much did it cost?
: Thanks for any info!
: Later,
: Tim.
