Maybe I've been fortunate, but back in '98 I bought two cans of Flagship (not knowing how much I'd need for the Panache), and I'm just now half-way through the 2nd can for the Wee Lassie II. I do use a strainer everytime I pour, and I do thin it with T-10, but I've never had any problems with the finish or drying. I don't know if this applies to other brands, but so-far, so-good with the Z-spar.

: Hi everyone,
: I'm in the final stages of finishing a Freedom 17' canoe. I used Interlux
: marine varnish on the exterior which is looking very nice, but I'm running
: out of the stuff and I have yet to start varnishing the inside. I have an
: old can of Behr spar varnish with UV inhibitors that I used on some
: paddles 3-1/2 years ago. The can has sat in my garage for 3 Minnesota
: winters, through several freeze/thaw cycles. It's still liquid, but it
: looks a little darker than I remember.
: Does this stuff go bad, or can I still use it? Maybe I'm being cheap, but I
: hate to spring for another can of the interlux if I don't need to.
: Thanks, Steve
