Here in Westminster there's a place called Art Supply Warehouse. They sell really nice brushes for about $30. I have one for special projects.

What I like is a 2" wide, thin brush made fro camel hair or other quality natural hair. They can go up to $150, but shooping around pays. The above place supplies local college students, and they sometimes have bargains and clearance prices.
