Hey Mark/Pete, we think alike - some things just have to be tried. I tried it with two routers below the table, just to see what happened, and since you almost have to cut the bead first to have a reasonably solid edge to run against the secondary fence, the flute cutter is doing the "climbing" cut. Ugly, lots of tear out.
So I looked at Pete's pictures, made a few sketches, and built the thing in a couple of hours. I think the real advantage, as Pete points out, is not speed so much as the ease of handling by one person.
