Don't forget to drive straight through, eat in the car and stop only for fuel. Fill up just before the Oregon border (no self serve so it takes longer cause you got to wait for the gas attendant) and turn on the radar detector. This way you can have bragging rights for time verses distance. "Yep, we measured it at 969.3 miles and it only took us 16 hours 57 minutes and 27 seconds. and we're all the better for it." Oops, did someone just collapse on the ground.
